Good afternoon everyone,

I` m a proud (vintage) owner of a Toshiba Satellite A200-1CR laptop (2006) and im facing battery issue.

Whereas the battery is recognized by the laptop and can charge, neither the laptop can boot using the battery, nor laptop can work if - while on connection to the power plug - you pull the wall plug off.
Have taken the laptop to 2 technicians, no problems on motherboard / power section found.
Have bought a new battery (OEM) to test, still no change (thought the batteries are well-recognized by system and charging).
I also installed windows 7 (previously had the xp - yes indeed!) but no change.

I think one of the technicians tried bios upgrade as well but unfo no change.

All thoughts / suggestions are most welcome !

Best Regards,
Vassilis

Good evening dear Hang-the-9,

Thank you for your message. Indeed the value is not that much, however i want to fix it in order to give it to my father (watching youtube videos).
Well, what i have also read about on the internet is the possibility of motherboard battery failing (but ive not noticed any losing date / time so not sure...)
Changing the m/b is indeed out of question, for the scarcity of similar models ( or.. can i put another one ? can you do that on a laptop ? )

Pleased to have your thoughts ! :)
