If your device is within a year of purchase (unlikely as it is getting close to the end of 2018) then it would still be under warranty (HD 10s have 1 year warranty, all others have 90 days.) If the battery goes bad within the warranty period, it would be worth it to contact Amazon Kindle tech support (htts://www.amazon.com/contact-us) At the very least, you may be eligible for some type of out of warranty offer.
