My FPS has been stuttering randomly, dropping to the 50's. And it's so annoying the words cannot describe it. I have tried the following:
* Overclock the GPU
* Overclock the CPU
* Disable superfetch
* Create user.cfg
* Disable fullscreen scaling
* Switched between DX12 and DX11
* Try using borderless mode
* Verifying game files
* Moving the game from my HDD to my SSD
* Re-installing the game
* Disabled origin in-game
* Running the game as an administrator
* Defragging my SSD and HDD
* Trying sfc/scannow
* Disabling XBOX DVR
* The emptystandbylist trick (https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/7a0763/standby_memory_issue_causing_stutters_on_creators/)

There's just one thing I haven't tried yet, and that is restoring my whole entire OS.

So just a while ago i decided to turn the settings from ultra to low, and guess what.... It still happens.

My specs:
GTX 1060 6gb
i7 3770k @ 4.0ghz
32gb DDR3 dual-channel
Corsair 750 watt PSU
Game installed on an SSD

Please help guys. The fps drops keep me from enjoying this game.

Solution

Were gunna try something that seems to have worked for me (for now anyways)

Open notepad

copy this into it
RenderDevice.RenderAheadLimit 3

(you can also try 1 and 2 if 3 doesnt work for you, 2 didnt work for me but 3 seems to)

save as "user.cfg" in your main bf1 folder. Once saved it should show the file type as a cfg and not a notepad doc.

Boot up the game and see if it worked! It seems to have done the trick for me. Fingers crossed this keeps on working for me, and i hope it works for you to, ive spent days now googling and trying to find a fix for this. Its actually how i ended up here, found this solution in another...

Monitored all the cpu cores and threads, and the max usage they hit was 90%. And I turned the settings from ultra to low, and the drops still happen. Either EA screwed up the optimization or it's on my end. No clue.
And funnily enough in the game there was another player complaining about the FPS.
