Battlefield 1 FPS problems

So I have a GTX 1060 (3GB) and an Intel Core i7 7700K for my Battlefield 1, but it doesn't seem to run at 50+ fps on the lowest graphics.

Does anyone know why this is? Is it because of either of these components, or is it because of a certain setting, etc?

At 1080P? It should do better than that, a lot better. Could be drivers, I would make sure you have latest graphics driver for the 1060 installed.

Made sure you've plugged the cable from the monitor directly into your GPU instead of the MOBO's?

Sounds like drivers. The other thing I noticed with BF1 recently, although doesn't affect fps but does affect smoothness, was to disable dx12 setting in the graphics options in-game.

Unfortunately, it didn't seem to work, I only updated my GeForce Game Ready drivers though. On the manufacturers website (MSI) I couldn't find any sort of drivers for the GPU

I've installed the latest Game Ready Driver for my 1060 but to no success, as far as I am aware there are no other drivers for GTX correct? So it hasn't solved the problem unfortunately.

Definitely get the drivers from nvidia's website. Also try using DDU (display driver uninstaller, can be found with a quick google search) first before installing.
