Hi, my current system is a bit outdated.
I am running a 4k screen which my gtx 780 ti struggles to run.
I am waiting for the release of gtx 1080 ti so I could get a gtx 1080 for cheaper than $900

My question is will getting a second gtx 780 ti improve my framerates? I have found a cheap one on craigslist for $200. Will SLi make a noticeable difference until I can afford a proper 4k gaming GPU?

Thanks in advance.

Asus z77 V pro 4.4ghz with Noctua NHD14
16Gb 1666mhz ram
gtx 780 ti
Corsair tx850
Samsung 500gb Evo ssd

thank you for the response. That still comes down to $950 AUD after postage to Australia. I should have mentioned I was from Australia. So what you are saying is second gpu will be a waste of $200AUD? Maybe I'll have to settle for a lower resolution until March next year then.

Oh. Yes that makes sense. Yah, I wouldn't spend the extra money on a cheaper GPU. Just wait a little and upgrade is my advice. You could also lower the resolution on your monitor a bit if you want better performance to like 2k or 1080p until you get a better card.

How about a gtx 1070? From most review, its within 20% of a gtx 1080. Will that give me more bang for bucks? I could buy one right away if I wanted to

the cheapest one for me is Asus dual OC version. EVGA FTW is about $60 more expensive. Also the Asus rog strix OC is same price as EVGA FTW. Which one should I go for you think?
