Battlefield 1 Has Stopped Working

This never happened before today with BF1. After downloading the update today I launched BF1 and it worked. I realized I was in DX11 and wanted to run in DX12, so i had to restart the game. Trying to launch the game again, it launches and the loading screen comes up, but just as it appears it's going to show the menu screen it crashes every time.

Hello.

Start by exiting Afterburner if it's open. ^^ Then try again.

If it doesn't work, you will need to edit your saved configuration file, and change the line
GstRender.Dx12Enabled
It has to be set to 0 for DX11 to work.

Thanks for the replies.

Exiting MSI Afterburner allowed the game to work properly. But if I try to launch MSI Afterburner after the game is running, it crashes.

How do I run the game w/ Afterburner? I would like to be able to switch between DX11 and DX12. I already restarted my computer and ran as admin, but did not help.

Did you make it DX11 again before running Afterburner? I think you'll have to wait on DX12 + Afterburner until they have a new patch/fix.

You can also check to see if your Afterburner is the latest version. Perhaps a newer version solves the issue.

No I didn't. But I've been running Afterburner + DX12.. why all of a sudden it not working?

You'll have to ask EA or a programmer for why not. ^^ All I know is that Afterburner currently gives issues with BF1. As I said, you might want to check if Afterburner isn't at the latest version. If yes, then you'll have to wait for a corrective patch, either on Afterburner, or EA's side.
