BATTLEFIELD 1 LOW FPS and LOW GPU LOAD (GTX 1060 / 7700k)

Hello dear experts!

Recently I have a problem with my BATTLEFIELD 1. Normally I have 100 FPS + during my online gameplay. But for some reason now it is 30-40 FPS (any settings) and my GPU (GTX 1060 6GB) is loaded 30-50%. Resolution scale is 100% (Full HD). Also, I have the same FPS count in single player. All other games (PUBG, DOOM, BATTLEFIELD 4) seem to work just fine.

My CPU is I7 7700k and 16 GB of 2400 Mhz RAM. I run WIN 10 PRO (with all updates) and latest Nvidia drivers (clean driver uninstall didn't help). Game uninstall and new download also didn't help.

Things I've tried:


- Tried reinstalling BF on my HHD and SSD.
-Tried different GPU-drivers (using DDU).
-Checked for a potential memory leak (no memory leak luckily)
-Checking my temperatures (CPU in-game: 60°C, GPU in-game: 45°C).
-Disasembled my computer and cleaned it.
-Tried different NVIDIA control panel settings.
-Put Power options to High performance, as well in the NVIDIA control panel.
-Updating my BIOS, and tried tweaking settings in BIOS.
-Disabling GameDVR.
-Checked for hardware failures
-Disabling Windows Defender and Antimalware programs.

Since you said the FPS is the same on any setting is there any sort of quality degredation? Can you notice the lag at all or does still play the same as it used to?

No lag, just 30-40 FPS cap.

So no lag and you see the same cap on all settings. It sounds like an issue between the game and the software you’re using to monitor the FPS. It may not even be a hardware issue. Try using a different piece of software to monitor your FPS or try updating your current software.

So I've tried using FRAPS, MSI for monitoring but the result is the same. Also without monitoring, I can feel 40 fps cap.

Interesting. It has to be software related. Have you tried rolling your driver back to a previous version?

Yes, of course, I've tried it and also tried a clean install of some previous nvidia drivers from 2017. The same thing all around.

Ya I figured I had something to do with the software. Hardware doesn’t just tank like that. I’m glad it’s fixed!

Not solved((( With latest nvidia drivers 50-60 fps with slowdowns and lag

Recently I've tried some previous nvidia drivers and my fps vary from 40-60, GPU load is around 40-50 %. The strange thing that switching to DIRECTX 12 (in game) rises my FPS to 110 but still with some stuttering.

Yes, clean windows 10 reinstall solved the problem
