Son updated his Battlefield 2042 and it crashed, screen froze and locked up windows10. We had no choice but to hold down the power button to shut down the PC as nothing worked.

Now the PC refuses to boot and defaults to the bios screen. Bios sees his mbr M2 drive but refuses to boot, returning to the bios every time after a few screen flickers. Booting from a Macrium Reflect Win10 PE rescue usb stick it doesn't see the drive at all ?, hence can't run the Macrium windows boot fixer either. This usb drive was created when cloning from his old to new M2 drives a few weeks ago.

What now ?. His PC is working fine on his old M2 but we need the boot of the new one fixing if possible. Will try creating win10 rescue media from his old drive when I get the chance in a few days...

Sounds like it wasn't a software related crash, but drive failure.

I had similar behavior the last time an M.2 drive popped on me. System hard locked, and on reboot, no bootable drive, but it would occasionally show up in the BIOS.

Yes it's shot, didn't appear in the bios so returned to the shop. Hoping to get our money back so we can get the heatsink version (Firecuda 530 2Tb)
