Battlefield 3 Benchmarks Alpha Trial Max settings

According to an interview by game-debate,the DICE spokesperson stated that the new frost bite engine would require only as much power as the original to run it at max.

Can someone tell me how to post a question? I have a c2d 2.2ghz 2gb ram and gtx 460 can i run this game always at least 30fps? Also when it says minimum specs what fps is that and what fps is recommended?

As you can see the gtx 460 maxes out the game at 1080p wit havg fps of 38 at dx 11 max settings

I played in the Alpha and I can tell you that it is very CPU demanding.I have a 6870 and a Phenom ii x4 965 @ 3.8ghz and it was nearly maxed out but I was mainting a steady 55fps-60fps.Remember that the Alpha testing is only for server quality.Their were still lots and lots of bugs in it.And the quality was turned very down.If I was only getting 55FPS with their weakest graphical version of the game what does that say about the full game?

I am curious what resolution you where running it at?? 1080p I assume

BF3 alpha runs better then bfbc2 for me on a dual core @ 4.0ghz and 6950 2gb. Probably have to upgrade for the bigger maps and more players though, and better graphics then alpha 😀

But BFBC2 runs exactly like that.On my gtx 275 and i7 870 I get 70-80 on low and 50-60 on high.BF3 seems to be slightly more demanding although from the screenshots I don't think its as beautiful as crysis 2 and crysis. The interiors in crysis 2 just look like photos. It was actually the only game which applied SSAO in a subtle way to enhance visuals.BFBC2's HBAO just looked to unrealistic

Do you think my i7 870 and gtx 275 could run the game at high on 1680X1050 with 30+ fps?

despite all the "the full game is going to be a lot more demanding" talk -- I'm super glad I upgraded my Core2Quad 2.4 to an i5 2500K @ 4.5GHz -- i will have NO trouble on the CPU front

Now my GTX280 on the otherhand is in need of some upgrading -- really wanting to wait for the new AMD offerings if they can get it out by late november. We all know nVidia won't have anything for purchase till next year who knows how late.

If all else fails I have my eyes on a GTX570 maybe picked up on the cheap used. possible SLI down the road.

honestly i'm fine as long as i can play the game around 30+ FPS. as for the graphic i don't mind if i can't max it out. hopefully i can run it just fine at least on medium setting with my 460. if i really have the money right now i will definitely go for platform upgrade. lets see how the beta plays out later
