With "handled the game" you mean it was playable enough or like 60+ fps constant, and what resolution did you test it at?

You think a 5850 can handle it well at a lowish-res like 1280x1024?

Take it with a grain of salt. It's a beta, so graphics settings are always a bit wonky. However, the game will run fine if you have any sort of quad-core paired with a decent 5000/6000 or GTX 500 card, methinks.

I played it at 1920x1080, and it looked like I was getting 60fps.

Enjoying the Beta!!! The changes they made from the Alpha make the game much better. Moving M-Com station Bravo up and to the left (from the attackers position) makes the first part of the map much more fair. In the Alpha, attackers got to the second stage of the map less than 5% of the time. Repositioning Bravo makes the second stage of the map much easier to get to, even without the APC.

Visually the game is stunning, even in Beta. The persistent destruction makes for some great cover!! Love crawling through the trees that have fallen down. A must play for anyone that likes FPS's.

Nice to finally break in my GTX 560 ti's in SLI (EVGA 2 gig models). But like Devin said, you aren't really sure what settings are really being used. Plus, having to use Beta drivers is always touch and go!!

You know what's sad is the Wii U won't be out until next year and will not be able to handle this game much better than today's consoles. PC all the way!

Is there a Hardcore setting so that a 50Cal will kill with 1 shot? In my opinion EA games always require to many shots per kill. It needs a Hardcore setting!!!

I pre-ordered the Battlefield 3 Limited Edition PC Game from newegg.com for $51.46, free shipping.... Must... hold... out... just... a... little... longer... if the backordered cpu and gpu blocks suddenly become available, I might have the wc done by release, 10/25.

I don't have a single damned game right now that I even feel like playing so that's making it a little harder even.

Anything more than a 5850 is suggested from me. Coming off closed beta. You'll run a 5850 at 1680x1050 at Highest settings but no AA or Motion blur. It'll run OK but you will notice lag. Anything more than a 6870 or GTX 560 NO TI is suggested.

its not sad, you dont buy a Nintendo product to play this type of game. Whats sad is the hideously ugly, overcomplicated, uncomfortable looking Wii U controller.

It's going to be a great challenge to feed the tens of thousands of computer users trying to download the open beta in a few hours.

I would have prefer alpha and beta without the in game browser play big draw back for me. It didn't make a good impression so I'm thinking this one is let others buy before I spend cash.

[citation][nom]lilotimz[/nom]Too bad we don't get to play the Caspian Border 64/48 player conquest game mode yet... yet....[/citation]

I may or may not have tried a certain map and certain game mode in a passworded server...it was fun though, whatever it was.

Agreed, this game is a beast to run! I have a 2500k @ 4.0 with xfire 6870's, at 1680x1050, i am pulling around 70-85 fps on ultra settings. I'm considering OC-ing the 2500k to 4.3-4.4 to see if it makes a difference, but I'm waiting for the 11.10 drives to come out to see if that improves performance first.

Why make that push if you're already getting over 60 fps?
