I bought a GTX660ti a while ago in the hope of getting a nice fps boost from it. Well didn't quite work out as i expected 🙁.
I don't even play the game at everything on Ultra settings. My settings I usually play on, are everything Low except Mesh Quality on Ultra @ 1280 x 720.

My specs: ASUS DirectCUII GTX660ti
Intel i5-750 @ 2.67 Ghz
Corsair TX 650W PSU
8GB Corsair RAM @ 1600 Mhz
Windows 7 64 bit

I know the CPU is old and not the best but i googled if it would bottleneck a 660ti and many people said it wouldn't so I don't know what it could be.

Thx for your answers in advance :)

What model? And I mean the actual model, not just Asus DirectCUII 660ti.

Have you tried the latest 314 drivers from Nvidia?

Are you running other programs? How many processes have you got going when you play?

I am playing Multiplayer trying to play on 64 player servers. I have 314 drivers installed at the moment and I have the version with 915 Mhz Chipclock.

At the moment I have a MSI P55-GD55 Mainboard and there is no option to overclock the CPU, there are simply Overclocking profiles which dont lead me to anything. Do I have to update my BIOS maybe?

as i mentione in some games vsync lock the FPS to around 30 or 60!however bf3 doesnt have such an issue but its not bad to try with vsync off!

I have a similar set up to original poster:

I5-750
Gainward GTX 660ti (1006mhz core)
8gb DDR3 ram
Gigabyte P55 US3L mobo
screen 1920 x 1080
600w PSU
Windows 7 64 bit home

I can run BF3 with all settings at ultra (except shadows on low) and can play fine with 30-50fps on 64 multiplayer maps, vsync off, 314.14 drivers and neither my processor or gfx card are overclocked, so there's something wrong with his rig.

Try running some 3d mark benchmarks with the new gfx card and old gfx card and compare scores with other computers to find out the offending part but it sounds to me like you have picked up a dodgy gfx card.

With my old GTX 470 I could play BF3 on medium settings.

I doubt very much that the processor is bottlenecking, unless he has a dodgy CPU! I have overclocked my CPU previously to 3.6ghz and got an increase of 5-10 fps but at the minute I'm running on stock clocks of 2.66ghz.

My only other suggestion is to check the nvidia profile and make sure he has all his settings right for BF3

also did you uninstall your previous drivers properly? (i.e uninstall in safe mode then use driver sweeper before installing the new driver). Have you ensured Physx is installed with the driver?

in a 64 player map i am 60 fps solid with all in game ettings on max, except for AA which is on 4x. The multiplayer is quite cpu dependant. I can say occasionally i get a clitch here and there but i think its more associated with my internet connection.
