Hey there,

I did a search for this specifically but I couldn't find anything so sorry if I've overlooked it.

Basically I'm just looking for some help with a system I recently built, I built it to mainly play battlefield 3 and I've noticed that my FPS is pretty low even though I more than pass the recommended requirements.

I have:

FX 8150 (stock)
HD 7870 (stock)
16GB HyperX Genesis

I'm currently getting no more than 40fps on ultra settings and when I turn down to high or medium there is a 5 fps boost... it's playable but I have seen people with similar systems than mine (lower spec) who have managed to get the game running at 60+ fps...

I'm not hugely interested in overclocking my CPU at the moment as I am still using the AMD stock cooler until I can afford a better one.

If anyone has any tips or tricks that would be great.

Thanks for reading.

Sorry but I call BS here .... a 7850 is NOT running BF3 at 2560x1440 ultra textures and the rest medium at 50+ FPS. All reviews I have read say that card should not be doing anything over 1080 at LOW/Med Settings.

That being said to the OP .... the 7870 is a good card but it is not a great/top of the line card. It could be driver problems but the 7870 even when oced is only going to get you 35-40 FPS in BF3. You should be able to play at good frame rates on medium settings.
