Since the december patch I've had troubles playing BF3 on my PC. Once every 20 minutes or so, my PC randomly freezes and the only thing I can do is restarting it.
For long I was just ok with playing other games like Diablo, MW3 and LoL, but I really want this issue solved now, especially when I'm looking to upgrade some of my components.

Specs:
- PSU: Enermax Galaxy DXX 850W
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 @ 2.66Ghz (http://ark.intel.com/products/36463/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-E7300-(3M-Cache-2_66-GHz-1066-MHz-FSB))
- GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 5670 1GDDR5 (http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=915&pid=310&psn=&lid=1&leg=0#)
- RAM: 4Gb DDR2, haven't checked manufacturer or anything like that

I haven't OC'd any components, only basic driver OC'ing.

At first I thought the problem might've been my CPU/GPU temp getting too high, but after testing it a couple of times my GPU goes to 50°C and my CPU goes to 56°C.

Can anyone help me having a chance at playing this awesome game again 🙁?

Your specs are pretty good except for the the cpu, i think you should upgrade it to an intel core i5 sandy or ivy bridge but that would require that you upgrade your motherboard to  the other components are fine :)

The memory is ok, I've checked it with memtest and it didn't give any errors.

I also forgot to put the mobo in my specs: ASUS P5QL PRO.

Any further help?

I have ran these two together and got a max CPU temp of 58°C and a max GPU temp of 55°C.

I have left it on for more than half an hour now, it didn't crash and the max temperatures were only 2°C higher.

Maybe it could be an Origin or BF3 problem, I'll try reinstalling both.

That'd be frustrating, but if I have to...
I've also noticed that I very rarely (maybe once every 1-2 months) get a random BSOD.
Well, I think it's random...

I have the same issue. It locks up compleately after about 20 minutes.

Specs: 16GB PNY Optima RAM (1066)
AMD Phenom II x6 1090T
NVidia GTX 560
Asus M5A99X MOBO
Corsair H100 cooler (push-pull)
NZXT Phantom Case
OCZ X-Streme 600Watt
Windows 8 (had no problems with 7 but did the switch anyway)

PS: I'm running Nvidia driver 314.22... I'll try updating to a beta and see if that does the trick... its too much of a memory leak for 16gb...
