Battlefield 4 R9 280 crossfire fps?

What kind of fps should i be getting with two R9 280 in crossfire with directx 11 api? My fps is usually around 50-70 it seems like but here and there my fps drops to 40-30 and it makes for very laggy game play. I tried playing bf4 with the mantle api witch is wayyyyy better i get avg 100-120 fps but the problem with that is again i get random fps drops, also mantle has a memory leak witch eats up all my ram so i cant use the mantle api. So what could i possibly do? Fyi I am using the latest amd beta drivers and bf4 graphics settings are on high.

My setup:
CPU: Amd fx8350
Graphics: Gigabyte R9 280 3GB x2 in Crossfire
SSD: Adata SX900 512GB
Motherboard: Gigabyte fxa990 ud3 rev 4
Ram: 16GB Corsair Vengeance

checking your temps on your CPU? i assume you would be but that's what i would look at first. and the GPUs for that matter.
