So i have been played battlefield 4 for a while now and i have always could change my video settings. But suddenly my desktop screen turned black when i logged in and now battlefield 4 says that i cant change video setting because im running on 32-bit? i have tried to run the Battlefield 4(64 bit) program icon, but it dont seem to work, still the same.

Solution

I think you meant, "need 64-bit to run 8GB".

Oliversisu, you can change the bit type the game will run in Origin. Just right click on the game and select I think "preferences" or settings. You can change it to 32-bit there.
Check "Control Panel" --> "System" I believe you need 8 Gb to run 64 bit version. You might "have" 8Gb or more, BUT, sometimes your system can re-boot and "not-see" the full amount of RAM installed...

Post back your RAM situation...

I've never heard of not being able to change video settings because you're running 32 bit battlefield... Assuming I'm understanding your question, try changing which version you're running in Origin. Open up Origin, right click on Battlefield 4, click Game Properties, and change the drop down field labeled "When launching this game." Whichever option it is, switch it to the other. I'm assuming by that error that it is running in 32bit mode (x86) but I still don't get why that would prevent you from changing graphics settings...

I just opened it in 32 bit (x86) mode and it wouldn't let me change any settings either. So you should be able to go into Origin like I said and change it to x64 and it should be fine. Also, make sure that you're clicking on the Battlefield 4 64 bit shortcut if that's how you're opening the game, since there are different shortcuts for each version.

Okay, i only have 6 gb ram and im planning to more, i can have 16g in totalt. But what you are saying is that i need 8gb or more to run 64 bit?

No, what he/she is saying is that you need 64bit for your system to be able to acknowledge 8gb of ram, as 32 bit only goes up to 4gb (I believe its actually 3.5 but don't quote me on that)

Ahh okay, thanks for the help.

Nope, you need 8Gb of RAM to run the 64-bit version of BF4 (assuming of course the version of Windows 7 OS you have loaded on your PC is a 64-bit version of the OS to begin with...)

But i only have 6gb ram? how can i play battlefield 4 64-bit right now?

You can NOT play the 64-bit version of BattleField 4 without a MIN of 8Gb of RAM....

Your only solution is to go out and buy more RAM:
- if you have a dual channel CPU, just add one more 2 Gb Stick....
- if you have a triple channel CPU, while you "could" add 1 more 2 Gb Stick it will impact performance, so, add three (3) sticks...
