Hello there i like to play games with all the graphical bells an whistles on. After lots of thought i upgraded my PC from a 1080Ti to an RTX 2080 because i really wanted to taste ray tracing in BF5. Problem is i play in native resolution 3440x1440 with everything on ultra except TAA and DXR on low. On some maps the framerate is almost unplayable with even DXR and TAA on low. My question is now since i read a rumor that BF5 is getting DLSS update in the future, will i be able to play the hard GPU raytracing maps on BF5 with DLSS on and maybe even get playable 50+ FPS frames? My system has an old CPU, a 5930K with 16 gb, but since raytracing is so hard on the GPU i dont think the CPU is a bottleneck because playing with DXR off (and all the rest ultra) gives me buttersmooth framerates. So will DLSS make BF5 playable at 3440x1440 with everything ultra on my system with RTX 2080? Thanks...

I overclocked my CPU to 4.3Ghz just to see what it would do in the game and very strange the snappieness and fps went up a significant amount! Does enabling raytracing also has something to do with CPU speed then??? Very strange i thought the game was completely GPU bottl'enecked so the multiplayer with DXR on is also CPU dependant obviously????

Ray tracing will have much more of a hit on your GPU than CPU, but overclocking is going to help performance either way.

Ray tracing in BF5 does indeed use a fair bit more cpu power compared to no ray tracing according to Digital Foundry.
Also Dice themselves said for Ray tracing they recommend an i7 8700k compared to without ray tracing where the recommended is a i7 4970

With dxr full scene should be rendered (360 degrees), not only 90 degrees.
