The way they are hyping it, I am sure the numbers will ballon. Problem is maintaining that number especially when people already tested in beta and may or may not like the game. Not that I am skeptical about this game, but in general, these games are just milking of established franchises and have little fun factor.

The issue not being considered is that secure boot has caused an issue for PC exclusively. This means that the lion's share is on console. Having over half a mil on steam is impressive, more so when you consider that a large chunk of PC players can't even play the game on their PC.

I have been playing the Beta since August 7 and been pleasantly surprised by the game’s performance and server stability. I played every Battlefield since 1942 all the way to BF1 but lost interest with BFV. BF6 however is a different story, it has the same feeling of BF3/4 with some positive additions and tweaks to the classes.
Yes, Battlefield is back all EA has to do is not fumble the launch and keep the spirit of the game.

Me and my friends have been playing and nobody is going to buy the game when its released, thats for sure. It just feels like a CoD with a couple of vehicles. We've gotten tired after 2 days!

@Elusive Ruse Honestly I liked more old BF 1942, the new ones in comparison:
-has few vehicles (maximum 2 tanks per team in current BF is terrible vs up to 8 and like 4 planes...)
-maps are tiny
-it feels like a CoD
-lots of city-based maps

I just think BF lost its identity.

My friends and I feel the same way. We're actually likely to pick BF6 up.

I tried BF1 but didn't really like it much. I skipped BF5 and 2042 as they didn't really interest me. I know some may be upset that BF6 is going back to BF3/4 vibes, but those were the games I really enjoyed so I am happy to see it for now. I am sure they'll run the formula into the dirt trying to squeeze out more and more money, but for now, I am enjoying it.

What you're playing in the beta I would bet big on being a small sample size of maps, vehicles, weapons and unlocks in general. Played it for a solid 7-8 hours straight with friends in the day we got access, just to see what I'd be buying into (love BF) and I definitely had the feeling that's very little of what we should be seeing come launch.

Like ElusiveRuse, I've also played BF from 1942, stopped at BFV, picked up 2042 but that was a let down. In any case, you'll notice there are multiple slots per weapon category, which I'm sure most will come around at launch, but in typical modern BF fashion will host more new weapons as DLC's drop.

I agree with you that some maps were definitely not the biggest to host what traditional BF warfare/conquest is known for. That being said, there's just no way those were all the maps during the beta as well.

All in-all, I had fun with the beta! I really got some BF3/4 vibes but movement and surroundings just felt really good and modern to play in. The only thing that's kind of a letdown for me is the "lack" of depth in the attachments for modding, but I am spoiled by Tarkov, which IMO has the best weapon customization/building ever.
