I have an Abit BE6-II motherboard BIOS release 71 for BE6-II v1.2. I
had windows xp installed and working, but my hard drive crashed. I am
trying to reinstall the OS but am unable find any device drivers to
allow the highpoint slots to work. When the system boots up it will
show correctly the devices installed and that it is and the blue
screen displays " Highpoint HPT370 Bios ver 0.95b. Which device
drivers do I need? TIA

When E-mailing me, remove the Anti-Spam Device (notme_) from my reply
address

Go to the highpoint website... http://www.highpoint-tech.com and
download the latest drivers... You want the Drivers listed for the
HPT370/HPT372... Unzip them to a diskette...

When you install XP, press F6 when the setup starts and it asks if you
have additional drivers you need to install.

It will then prompt you later in the install to insert the diskette
you created with the manufacturers drivers.

Also... another note to remember... With the Highpoint controller...
When you install WinXP to a drive on the highpoint, you can't have any
hard drive attached to the Intel controller. You can add one after
the install is complete, but it can't be connected during the install.

That is bad advice Dan. Even if you can get the OS installed, running the
new generation 2.x drivers on the 0.95b Highpoint BIOS can cause system
instability and/or data corruption.

Go to TomG's FTP site (address at the bottom of his posts), and download the
Z72C custom BIOS for the BE6-II version 2.0. Follow the instructions in the
readme file about flashing this BIOS on a revision 1.2 board, and flash your
BIOS. Then use the drivers enclosed in the Z72C.zip download to create a
driver diskette, which you load by pressing F6 during the install process,
as already mentioned by Daniel.

Hi, Tom. I have put together the 72 Bios with the latest HPT 370
Bios from the Highpoint Website (Version 2.351). This BIOS has
a bunch of fixes over top of the 2.34 Version found in Z72C.

If you would like this, please email me and I can get this into your
hands.
