Beast PC, but minecraft still lags.

Have an asus radeon 7870 gpu,
FX8320 CPU
8gb 1600mhz ram
750 psu
and ga78lmtusb motherboard
Yet for some reason my computer still struggles to 60 fps on minecraft even though other games run smoothly. Have i configured it wrong.

if you have 60 fps at the lowest it is very good i play minecraft on my old dell that i upgraded and it has problems running it but i can run skyrim on low settings battlefield 3 and killing floor at 40 to 60 fps so i dont think you have to worry about it unless that's the highest your getting

The issue is that it spike constantly, and drops down to about 14-15 which is super frustrating. And because i want to record for my youtube channel it is really annoying.

iv'e actually herd this somewhere else and it was to do whith the cooler for the graphics card and or
old java versions

Try reinstalling any programs you think might be interfering. May I suggest you get the program CCleaner? Try reinstalling minecraft or there might be a new patch and your system has overridden that patch. It could also be an hardware problem for eg. Keep your cabinet open and try to take a look at the GPU fans if they stop working for a moment and that's the problem make sure all cables are plugged in properly. If you still don't manage then it's probs the game itself make sure you delete or uninstall all game files related to minecraft and install again.

But it most likely has to do with the GPU.

I was getting these too for my high end PC I installed an older more stable java version and gave MC more ram.

its fixed i got him on skype and cleaned hes pc and fixed the problem

Minecraft is written in the java programming language. it really is not meant for games. if they did it on C++ you could get 60 fps on a 300 dollar laptop. it is just really poorly optimized.
