Looking at the Processor list (were in deep trouble now), I saw the intel-core-i5-12600k. Would that processor be viable. Its a 125 W, not sure of the significance. Its only $20 more, and appears to have more performance.

If you go with that cpu then pair it up with this cooler.

When I did Intels first 4 processor, I followed Toms advice, and got the ASUS mb. Would not POST. Returned to Newegg, got a replacement. Would not POST. Returned to Newegg. Went to Frys, got a ABIT MB, still running today.

And now for something completely different. I have a 65 inch Plasma monitor, can I use that for a PC monitor? Has anyone ever tried that? Could be a very Imersive RPG environment,
How is the brightness of that plasma monitor? Plasmas are notorious for permanently dimming over time and it’s been a while since plasmas have been in production. I’m guessing you don’t use it that often if it’s still bright.

OK, here is a configuration I put in Parts picker, Will it work?? OOps, how do I get the list from parts picker to here? Everybody on here seems to do it.

I will ask, but I assume the answer is no, can I use a laptop graphics card in a PC? One can dream.

The following is my latest guess for a configuration, please review it, so if I put it togather, and turn it on, I will not see Oily black Smoke billowing, from my desk.

Not sure about the B760 motherboard. Don't think you can overclock on it, which just leaves wasted potential for the CPU, especially down the road in the future if you decide to start overclocking, otherwise, the performance difference between a K sku and non K sku is minimal when it comes to base and boost clocks and you are paying extra for a K sku and a third party cooler when you could just get a non K that comes with a cooler.

It's up to you though how you want to go about handling that, but my personal way of looking at things is, if you pay extra for a K sku, then you need to pay for a Z series motherboard to be able to overclock it, otherwise it's just a waste of money.

However, if things have changed in recent years with Intel and this B series board can overclock then it's all good.

(this is part of the appeal of a Ryzen CPU, since all skus can overclock if you want them to, and all motherboards can overclock them, ableit some boards have better VRM setups to overclock better than others)

The primary requirement is to run Final Fantasy 14 at max. Must also have WiFi and onboard graphics. Been a while since I did overclocking, Celeron and that era. Thinking of connecting a 65" Plasma, so need GPU with 16M. This will be a replacement system for when my ASUS laptop fails. I can fix desktop systems.
