Hi all,

Maybe an odd question - I built my PC in 2017 but due to life getting in the way I basically haven’t used it since then and I haven’t at all kept abreast of developments in gaming tech in that time.

So I’m just trying to get a sense check of whether my build is still relatively good / future proofed in today’s terms or whether there’s anything I should consider upgrading if I want to play the most recent titles (like Cyberpunk for example). Specs are below

Many thanks in advance.

Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero
CPU: Intel i7 7700k
GPU: Nvidia GTX 980 Ti Hybrid
SSD: Samsung Evo 960 1TB
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000 C15 (2x8GB)
Cooler: Noctua NH-D15
PSU: 850w

Very reasonable.
Games are limited bu the cpu or the gpu.
Usually the graphics card.
Best to try the new games and see how you do.

If you think you might want a new graphics card(most likely) run this test:
Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
This makes the graphics card loaf a bit.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

If you need more cpu capability, you can overclock your 7700K.
As of 6/9/17
What percent can get an overclock at a somewhat sane 1.4v Vcore.

I7-7700K
4.9 83%
5.0 62%
5.1 29%
5.2 6%

everything is great.Make use of that 7700K and that mobo by overclocking ur cpu.The only thing that needs to be replaced imo is the graphics card.
