Hello,

I've got new PC, everything smooth and fine, just ONE strange problem/issue. First hour of computer use went fine, I installed Windows updates etc. and then restarted PC. And here it is - now there is some kind of repeating beeping sound coming from Optical Drive 2-3 times every minute. After the beep there is a one second green light, indicating that Optical drive is trying to read something (But it's empty!).

I found 3 ways to remove this beeping:

1. Keep Optical Drive open
2. Keep disc in Optical Drive
3. Disconnect optical drive from the PC.

It looks like that Optical Drive thinks, that there is disc inside him, white actually there is none.

Any ideas how to fix this? :D

DVD Drive is Asus E-Green 24F1MT.

Other parts are 6700k, 16GB RAM, GTX 1070 and 2 SSD drives.

So, I put my old optical drive Asus 24B3ST to the new PC. It works fine, no beeping or any other problems.
I put my new optical drive Asus 24F1MT to old PC - it works fine there.

So, it actually might not be hardware problem? Maybe software? Because if I put my new Optical drive back to my new PC, beeping starts as soon as I turn on the computer. Also, beeping happens when I connect SATA cable, if I connect only power, it doesn't happen.

Anyway, I'm gonna use the old one 24B3ST in the new PC, because I'm not going to listen that beeping.
