Hello all. I've been meaning to buy for about a week now, but the video card I want is out of stock so I though I'd run my build past the experts at Tom's one last time.

CPU: Intel i7 920

Motherboard: Asus P6T Deluxe V2

GPU:

I already have a monitor and Vista x64. Is that a good build? Can anyone suggest any improvements for me? Is the RAM I've picked out good? Memory is the component I know least about. My total budget is £1000.

Also get an aftermarket cooler if you want, V8 is a good one

+1 on the wd black 640gb.

antec nine hundred two isnt that much better than the already antec 900.

rc-690 would be another alternate or a antec 1200 for more space with the i7 build.

Looks alright. Are you planning to overclock the cpu? If so, you'll need an aftermarket cooler such as this Xigmatek Dark Knight (£35). Even a rather conservative overclock to 3.2ghz would yield a decent performance boost.

The ram you picked seems excellent, though you probably wouldn't notice any difference in performance if you went with a less expensive 6gb set. If different ram would create room in your budget for a GTX 275, it would most definitely be worth it.

go for the oem 920 with an intel heatsink, it saves you £5 on scan.

or switch the 920 for a 920 D0 since they overclock way better.

the retail 920 are unlocked, the OEM's are not I believe so stick with retail.

no they're both the same.

if it was unlocked they would cost 12k a dozen
