Before I drain 330$ could someone reassure me everything's compatible? Thanks!

Hi, so I'm upgrading my XPS 9000 (435T) (http://www.pcworld.com/product/59659/studio-xps-9000-midsize-tower-desktop-customizable.html Specs) and I was wanting to make sure that an MSI N760 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127744 GPU) and because my power supply stock is only 475 W I'll be switching to the cooler master V750 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171094 PSU) and to finish it off, 8gb of HyperX DDR3 1600hz (Ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104442)

Will the PSU fit? It's 5.9 x 5.5 x 3.4 in, anyway you guys would know the size of the stock dell PSU? SORRY FOR BEING A NOOB

Dell is notorious for using custom motherboards and power supplies.

Why don't you open that sucker up and measure the current power supply and then see if your proposed power supply will fit?

While you're in there, measure the space where you plan to install the graphics card.

Opened it up, seemed to be nearly 6 inches across? That's fairly large, would the other one be too small? How would I mount it, the power supply is hanging on the ceiling of the case.

As for the GPU, my current one is just around 7 inches with very little width room. I also, don't know how to remove the current GPU because it's almost mounted into some of the audio/video ports with little spiky pin things...Unless I'm looking in the wrong area...Here's a picture of my MOBO http://imgur.com/ObXL8jQ . the long green port is my graphics I assume. Think i could fit that MSI 760?

Actual dimensions of the power supply. Measure them, then compare them with the stated dimensions of the PSU you're intending to get.

Usually PSUs are mounted (if they are standard) by four screws through the rear of the case. For top-mounted PSUs there may sometimes (but not all ways) be a bracket to support the weight.

As for the length of the graphics card, you should again verify the length (and width) of the planned graphics card.

"spiky little pin things" is too technical of a term for me, I'm lost as to what you're trying to describe. Usually graphics cards plug into a PCIe slot on the motherboard - that green slot seems to fit the bill, and then the card is attached to the outside of the case with a bracket that is usually pre-fitted to the end of the case, but for some low-form factor cards, a spare, smaller bracket is supplied.

I suggest you Google some videos on "how to install graphics card" :)

But seriously, measure the length available in the case and compare with the length of the GPU. ALso make note of what on the motherboard will be covered when the GPU is installed. SOme people get unpleasant surprises when some SATA ports or other important connectors are obscured.

Sorry man, had to go to work and I'm only just now able to check this. Well, I took the machine apart with my friend and measure everything out. my psu is 5.3X 6 X 3 It's a fairly large box, I'm sure the new one will be smaller. There is a support bracket on the inside as well and it mounts VIA 4 screws in the back.

The real worry is the graphics card, I have EXACTLY 9.5" of length room on the board. It may cover some plugs, but they're unused as of yet anyway so i'd doubt it'd really matter. However, as read, that I can find on ebay...The dimensions are (242x111x38 mm/9.5x4.4x1.5) Is the gpu really 4.4 inches wide? I can't tell if the width would fit my MOBO or not. If it was 1.5in Wide I'm sure it could and being 4.4 inches tall makes much more sense....

Sorry about being irrational earlier, I tried to educate myself better on the matter before seeking your help again; ha!

(Edit) Just found out, the site I got the Info on for the dimensions of the GPU was a little wrong and it is 4inches tall and not wide! so that's great news LOL -- Also, it's a dual slot card. I checked my computer, my original is a single slot. There is another un-used slot next to it, but there's a line separating the 2 slots. Does this matter? Are they 2 1 slot ports or are 2 slots only 2, 1 slot ports....Sorry I know that's confusing!
