Beginner OverClock Help.

Hello,

After months of pondering I have finally decided to overclock. I would love suggestions as what I should do.

Specs:

CPU - i7 4770k
Cooling - H100i
PSU - 1000W
MOBO (Updated Bios) - TUF Intel® Z87 motherboard

Programs that I have installed to test overclock:

Prime95
CPU-Z
Real Temp
*Should I be using something else?

Current Temperate on idle - 30-32C @ Stock 3.5Ghz

Remember, I am a novice on OverClocking in general. I'm still doing research on every option in the bios such as volts, clock, etc.

Any recommendations on Voltage and CPU Core Ratios?

ok, ty for updating. are you wanting to OC your cpu or gpu? if gpu, what is it?

(first, make sure all power saving features are disabled) ok, so, what you want to do is go into the bios and find the cpu configuration, it might be under performance, advanced, cpu, etc. there should be an option to change the multiplier (you may have to change some settings to manual first). the multiplier should be at 35.0 and voltage should be at around ~1.12v. you want to slowly increase the multiplier and voltages, so to start i would set the multiplier to 39.0 and set the voltage to 1.2v, and boot windows. now, download and run prime95 on small fft's for 10-15 min, if there are no errors then back into the bios! now, raise the multiplier to 41.0 and set voltage to 1.24v, and run prime95 again. after 10-15 min of no errors, then set the multiplier to 43.0 and voltage to 1.26v, and repeat prime95. if no errors, then set the multiplier to 45 and voltage to 1.28v, and repeat prime95. if no errors, then set the multiplier to 46 and voltage to 1.29-1.31v, and run prime95 again. if no errors after 20-30 min, then set the multiplier to 47, and voltage to 1.31-1.33v, and this is as far as you want to go. now run prime95 for 12-24 hours, and if there are no errors you are good to go! However, make sure the temps stay under 85c all the time, and whenever prime95 reports an error, or you get a blue screen, go into the bios and raise the voltage by 0.02 and try again. do not raise voltage over 1.33v, and again, make sure temps are under 85c. if you have any problems, please tell me and ill help you solve it 😀
