Level 29 Warlock Orc

Do things follow you further at higher levels?

Seems that I used to be able to run out of a beasties zone and he would
soon turn around and go back, now they seem to follow me for miles slowly
killing me. I was in ashenvale and this night elf guardian followed me for
ages before stopping and waiting, other people walked past her and were
ignored was it because I originally bothered her at her well?

Also some bears in Hillsbrad followed me for ages tonight too?

Annoying as ther is sod all i can do

Did you cast a DoT spell on them? I would think that if your spell was
doing damage to them, they would tend to follow you until it wore off.
Of course, I could be wrong since I don't play a 'lock.

DoT = Damage over Time. Spells or attacks that don't do all their
damage instantly, but spread it out over a period of time.

Set your imp on defensive. Works great.
We druids have natures grasp. Also works great (but for druids).

I discovered some time ago that if you keep doing steady damage to mobs
following you they keep following you until the end of the world :) I
remember people pulling some monsters into towns this way and wreacking
havoc XD I think Damage over Time Spells (DoTS) would help that too.

It seems to varry pretty widly, generaly that have a rough range where
they let go and run home so fast it makes your head spin, then
othertimes they will keep on you like a bloodhound. Me and a
ex-guildmate once had a mob fallow us so far that when it finaly DID let
go we had to stop from laughin so hard, it was unbeleivable and not
alittle funny, he had a grudge against us it seemed XD

i think ur problem was ur pet... normally (when mobs get no damage from
u / ur pet) they turn and run back to their spot. but if f.e. ur VW or
imp makes damage to them and then follow u (or u heal ur pet or so)
then they will follow u for ages... same with town guards... they
follow u longer then other mobs IMO

Don't monsters just run back to their start areas once they finish with
you? I've often seen speeding mobs run straight through me after giving
up chase on someone else, and never had them aggro me.

I have found some mobs are just really persistant as well, I had a Alliance
Guard aggro on me whilst I was exploring Desolace (around Nigels Point?) and
he followed me all the way down to the outskirts of the Kodo Graveyard even
though I hadn't taken a single swipe of any kind and neither had my pet (on
Passive).

For all but the first few yards he wasn't causing damage to me either.

I just put it down to the fact that Alliance chicks don't put out and he was
angst ridden.
