Belkin n300 range extender can't find my network SSID

My brother bought a range extender. Plugged it in and it worked. Our internet went out and we had to have a technician come and repair it. Now the online setup can't detect our wireless network SSID and won't allow us to connect manually via the "hidden network" option.
 
Solution
First ensure that the main router's wireless is working correctly and that any nearby wireless devices connect without issue.

Second, turn on SSID Broadcast. Hiding the SSID is not really a meaningful security measure.

Third, reconfigure the Belkin N300 as if new.

Not sure what the technician may have done per se. However, very good chance that your Range Extender may have gotten reset back to its original factory settings.
