I just ordered a new CPU and it would be here Fri afternoon... I wanna see how much of a performance increases I get from the new to the old. I want to benchmark Quake 3 arena and Raven Shield and maybe the halo demo if that’s possible.

Can someone give me a link or tell me how to benchmark games. And I would also like to do a compression benchmark too.

Im running win XP pro

thanks,

These may or may not be what you are looking for.

These first two are free, the first one does all sort of benchmarks:

This next one is probably what you are looking for, for in game stuff. All it does it record FPS during gameplay, which hopefully goes up with the new process.

I still prefer PCMark to benchmark, mainly becuase it gives me a single score instead of a bunch of numbers, that I don't fully understand anyways. Its not free, though I think it $19 to buy it.
