I have two desktops with different CPUs, but the slower CPU with less RAM benchmarked faster than the faster CPU.

Why is this so and what can I do to speed up the CPU?

#2 desktop, ASUS mobo w/ slowed rated Intel i5-2320 at 3 GHz, no overclocking or turbo boosting, but benchmarked faster than #1

overall 80%, CPU 91%ile (great), 20 GB RAM

In contast, #1 desktop: ASUS mobo with Intel i5-2500K overclocked and turboboost, but benchmarked slower than #2
overall only 4%ile, CPU at only 40.8%ile, 32 GB RAM

Also, would it make sense to put the i5-2500K CPU into #2, then benchmarket it?

#2 has 8 GB in slot #0, 4GB in slot #2. Would putting 4GB in slot #0 speed things up?

Note that both are custom builds; I built #1 in 2012 and someone gifted me #2 around 5 years ago (that was a few years back and I lost contact with him).

drivinfast247, no, but that's a great idea. Should I change thermal paste a time intervals?

So far, the CPU's maximum temps are between 37-42' C, Tj Max = 98' C
