So i got this motherbord msi Z270-PRO for a really cheap, almost to good to be tru, then I popped the "hood" on the cpu socket and I see som bendt pins. He claims it work, but I'm not sure. I tryd bending them back as good as I could. Dos this look like it could work?

i would pass the motherboard deal.

as for whether it works or not, it depends, the best way is to use a cpu to test, because some cpu pins are reserved and some aren't.

if the bent pins are reserved, then in theory, it would still work. but i think it's too much of a risk.

You can try, but the odds are heavily stacked against you, it's actually easier to recover an AMD CPU with bent pins than damaged pads on an Intel MB.
And yes, I've messed up a Z270 MB socket ( don't ask, I'm a natural hamfisted idiot ) which looked OK after some ' attention ' but the system would resolutely refuse to boot, no matter how good the socket looked. Sigh 🙁 Which cost me <>£175 for a replacement.
Try if you wish, but expect to claim off E-bay-or the vendor.

It was worse than that before?
No way that would actually boot up.

One of my Intel boards from 18 months ago:

Before - No boot

After - boot success

I dont get to test it for another month, waiting for the seller to get there new shipping, apparently som trouble with it. I guess I just have to wait and see. It was way worse then that. I've had som mb with bendt pins that worked before, but not as bad as this.
The old owner trys to put a I9 in it to test, and forced it to work, but he assured me that it would still be working.
There want be a chance for frying the cpu?

I have to say tho, it looks way worse in the picture then in real life

So I've bin bending and bending and I actually think I save this MB, there is only one thing I'm afraid of (se the picture with the arrow). It actually turns out pretty well, at least I think so

The yellow part is missing on this pin, so I tried to bend it a bit more upwards so it will connect to the cpu, it also might be a dead pin, idk, time will show

If that's a Z270, it sounds like the previous owner did some outright lying as well. He couldn't have tested an i9 on a Z270 motherboard because there are no Z270 motherboards that can run any i9 CPU.

That's why there are so many bendt pins, it ridden fit and he used force. He probably never got the system to run. He was just a kid getting his first experience. And he didn't know mutch as he claimed that the i9 was a i8 in the beginning. I was curious what he had don to the socket
