What are the benefits of having two monitors instead of one?
The only reason for what I see is:
-Streamers
- People who actually need it for productivity (heavy work loads, not just an essay)
-Just a hobby of theirs wanting to make their setup cool

I mean sure I get that you can like setup your email on of them and do work on the other, but is the price justified when you can legit just take one second to bring up the email screen if you only had a solo monitor?

Dont take my question as a bashing, Im just curios as to what are the advantages of having a dual monitor for an average joe that spends 6+ hours on the computer,
ALso i have a spare VX239 laying on the closet that hasnt been opened yet, so I was wondering if it was even worth the effort to open it, Install it, cable manage it etc...

Solution
My sister is a Minister and she used a dual-monitor setup all the time so she could have a WORD PROCESSOR open on one screen and a browser, e-mail app, or church software (to copy and paste quotes etc).

Toggling back and forth would be a huge hassle.

I did just buy her a high-res monitor instead so she uses Windows 10 to easily open a program on the left and right sides.

Other:
GAMING makes little sense on two monitors as the gap ends up in the middle of the screen. You're trying to point at an enemy who's split into two pieces (or if you apply the bezel correction the enemy might not even appear).
Well if it is not for one of the reasons you listed then it's mainly to achieve higher resolution while gaming and thus stress your gpu more which forces you to get a second gpu which proves that you have the money. So generally it's just a luxury. Same was a VW Passat will do everything you want, and more, but still an S Klasse Mercedes has tons of buyers.

so for the average joe if there not working at NASA or streaming, its mainly for a show of wealth/hobby?

I might sell it then i guess :/

Yeah precisely. Though if you want to game and browse the web/chat/do other stuff, without alt-tabbing, then it might be useful, but still you can, as most people can, live without it. Though you might give it a try, you never know, might like it a lot, so I'd suggest spend a week with dual monitor and see how much it benefits you as a consumer then make the decision.
