Benq 144hz Reso help

Im using a BenQ Xl2430T
In menu > Information it says
Current resolution : 1920X1080 @144hz
Optimum resolution : 1920X1080 @ 120hz

Well is it okay? what is this optimum reso and cant it be changed to 144 as well.

What cables are you using? Set it to 144hz and if it works then you're fine.

I'm using Dvi cable.
No there's no option for changing the optimum resolution to 144hz

it just gives information saying

Current resolution : 1920X1080 @144hz
Optimum resolution : 1920X1080 @ 120hz

So i mean to say my monitor is 144hz capable just explain me what is this optimum resolution and can it be changed, if yes how?
