BenQ announces world’s first 21.5” LED widescreen monitor

LED seems to be the new trend. BenQ announces four new LED backlit LCD monitors among them the world’s first 21.5” LED widescreen monitor. And all of them green-labeled in terms of saving energy.

Already launched in China mid-August according to this post: http://www.newlaunches.com/archives/benq_v2200_eco_worlds_first_215_led_widescreen_monitor.php, but no price tag added yet.

Anybody knows more?

Hi I suggest to anyone to check out the BenQ global website as they have more specifications there.

From what I can see the V series seem to be the premium quality with things like HDMI and boasting 0% light leakage where the G series focuses on extreme efficiency.

I wouldn't call a PC monitor with a TN panel backlit by LED lights "premium quality".

Yeah - those are all TN panels. They may be premium for a TN panel, but they can't possibly compete with a good VA or IPS panel for quality.

Right, but on the other hand VA or IPS are by far more expensive. So, for those who want a good monitor for a reasonable price, these BenQ monitors should be a good choice.

By the way, is a LED backlit VA or IPS already on the market?

Not that I know of, although they do use special tweaked fluorescents that are basically as good (aside from the higher power use and heat output).
