I buy and resell all kinds of random stuff. I recently acquired a 27inch Benq LED monitor. I honestly know next to nothing technical about tvs/monitors...i know a $20 problem/part for one model may be $200 in another.

Usually when I plug a monitor up to the power, i get the floating box that says no signal detected until i plug it. when i plugged this one up, the top 40%of the screen is pink, and the bottom 60% is black with some faint vertical lines, ive tried connecting it to my notebook, via hdmi, nothing changed, after a few seconds it powers off

any idea what the problem may? would it be worth fixing if i plan on reselling? or should i just toss it?

Solution
you won't be able to fix this, You have to get rid of it as you simply can can't fix this unless you start buying/replacing parts.

Could be anything from faulty screen to a blown capacitor.
