Hello Forum.

I recently bought a BENQ monitor, more specificly this one:
https://zowie.benq.com/en/product/monitor/xl/xl2411.html

I however found out that a HDMI-cable does not support 144 hz, so i went ahead and bought an adapter for USB-C, more specificly this one:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B071V9GC9N/ref=pe_3187911_189395841_TE_dp_1

Today I tried to plug the adapter using the DVI solution, into my laptop but with no succes.. I have the Lenovo Legion Y520 which has a 3.0 USB-C port.

When i plug in the adapter, my laptop registeres it on a unit called 'USB 2.0 Billboard' and not the 'USB 3.0' which i assume is the USB-C port.

Anyone that knows what the problem is here? I was kinda hoping to enjoy 144 hz, but i might have missed something important here.

Sincerly
Kim

Video over USB-C is an optional feature, it won't work from just any USB-C port. You need a USB-C port that supports video.

So how do you figure this out? On Lenovos own website it just says "1 x USB 3.0 (Type-C)"
