Okay,
I have read a ridiculous amount of forum posts about people trying to get their Benq and other monitors to run at 144hz, or at the very least above 60hz on 1080p. I am in this large boat with them. I need some help, PLEASE.
I have a new BenQ XL2411Z monitor with my older Asus Radeon HD7970 and it is stuck at 60hz. I have tried through windows screen resolution, i have tried CCC as well. I have updated the CCC from amd.com, as well as drivers for windows and GPU. I am using the DUAL LINK cable it came with do the dual link dvi out on my gpu. I have also tried the display port outs with a display port active adapter to dvi-i that i own. Nothing works.
I normally run 3 monitors and to take out any problems i have unplugged all of them and tried only the new benq in all spots, even the spots it should work and nothing works. I have switched the tiny bios button on the gpu that is right next to the crossfire link and neither 1 or 2 positions work (i read somewhere that someone did that and it worked, it did not for me), i have tried a different dual link dvi cable as well and did not work.
Catalyst center will let me set it to 120hz but it will only do that in 1024x768 not in the native 1080p. I spent an hour on a phone with benq person after trying all this and they cant figure out what it is either, his only thought is that it may be a problem with the asus gpu, but they have not answered back and offices are closed for some reason even though the hours are posted to be until 11pm.
PLEASE, any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
