Question BenQ PD2700U HDR mode?

Picked up a PD2700U.

So far loving the colors since have only used 1440P SDR monitor in the past. Confused about how to properly set up HDR. Should it be done using the monitor controls in the bottom right of the screen, or via software using either Windows 10 Display Settings or the DisplayPilot software? And what is HDR 'emulation'? Thanks!

how to properly set up HDR

after enabling HDR in the OS

you should start by optimizing the color options for your graphical output(dedicated GPU, integrated, etc...) through their included software.

then use the display's OSD and/or available onboard buttons to further optimize the picture.
if the display itself also provides some sort of control software to install you may be able to even further optimize the picture through that

what is HDR 'emulation'?

i've seen it, and similar worded options, available on some TVs & monitors but it usually just refers to a way to extend color and black portions of the screen for SDR content to seem a bit more "HDR" compared to regular output.

seems to usually make lower resolution and/or lower quality images look strange and off-color.

Yeah for what its worth setting HDR in WIndows 10 Display settings is the way to go.
