Hello,

I had 2 screens plugged in my graphic card (GTX 780) and one television, everything worked smoothly and the screen worked with 144hz, but I needed to temporarily move my computer to another location and ofcourse I brought only one display, XL2411hz with me.

1920x1080 resolution works properly with 120hz and if I customized screen settings in nvidia control panel I got it working with 130hz but anything above that it simply says "out of range". I tried to plug my DVI Dual Link on both DVI-D and DVI-I ports behind my graphic card but it does not help. I also reinstalled graphic drivers but no luck. Also I messed up with Windows 7 themes because that is known to cause issues with higher refresh rate displays.. In fact, 1680x1050 works with 144hz..

Basicly I am out of ideas. How can I get this to work again with 144hz? Is the cable somehow magically broken?

Could be indeed that the cable is broken. I have had the 2411z aswell and did also have a problem with a dual link dvi cable which was probably faulty. Could be just one lane in the cable that is broken that makes the bandwith go down.

Also check that there isn't any dust in the GPU or monitor to be sure.
You also are on the latest drivers of nVidia right ?

Otherwise try/buy another cable, if that doesn't work then you should rma the screen and return the cable if you can.
