Hi, after a month of using my 144hz monitor, I just now realized that the monitor was at 60hz. I'm currently using a DVI cable from Amazon. When I go into display adapter properties - list all modes the max refresh rate for 1080p is 60hz. But for lower resolutions can go up to 120hz. I've reinstalled windows, my motherboard drivers from MSI, and graphics drivers from AMD. I've also tried to create the new resolution in Radeon setting, but the max herts I can set it on is 66. Please leave me suggestions I can try because this is really frustrating.

Yes. It only supports 120 Hz at lower resolutions because the bandwidth is limited. Higher resolutions require more data than lower resolutions at the same framerate. 720p 120 Hz and 1080p 60 Hz are roughly the same. 1080p 120 Hz is twice as much data as either of those, and requires Dual-Link DVI.

Ok here is the reason
1. Your motherboard has a DVI 1.4 or something like that. IT does NOT support 144 Hz. Please read the product specifications to make sure this error does not occur. Only DVI 2.0 supports 1080p at 144Hz.

The specifications don't state if it's DVI 1.4 or 2.0 on MSI's website but that's most likely the reason for it. I guess i just have to save up for a dedicated GPU.

So you think it's the DVI port even if it supports 120hz at a lower resolution?
