Hi there I am Wondering which would be better. I have a xl2411z benq monitor that i just bought.
though i am running into
First i have a hmdi cord, a monster one that when used i can do 1080p resolution but only at 60hz
When i do a dual dvi cable that was provided to me i get 1080p but at 120hz and 144hz.
I was always told go hdmi its better but i was wondering if its still true in this case. What would be the better choice?
Secondly Everything seems smaller now on my computer being in 1080p, i use to use my 720p monitor and everything seemed right, but now that i have gotten my new monitor today everything seems smaller, and if i go to control panel and display i have an option to make things smaller, medium, or large, if i pick medium or large everything starts looking blurry.small is the only one that feels and looks right. I was hoping someone could help.
My monitor came with a cd but i could not use the cd because i never put a cd drive into my custom pc. Thanks in advance

Dvi actually has less color space, it's limited to rgb space (8 bit) while hdmi has others (up to 16 bit) although this makes no difference on your normal 8 bit monitor. There isn't any gpu with hdmi 2.0 so dual link dvi has higher bandwidth to get 1080p/120 or 144. Dvi is the obvious choice.

Everything being smaller has to do with dpi, that monitor is higher dpi than your old one. This isn't "normal" as there is no standard dpi. A 24" 1080p is lower dpi than a 1080p 21" and so on for any other monitor with different res and size. The option you are changing is changing the dpi but it's really no different than lowering your res. A single pixel gets spread over multiple pixels so blurs.
dual link dvi-d is much better and has a much higher bandwidth and color bit detail than hdmi. when hdmi 2.0 is available, then hdmi may have an argument. everything being smaller is normal. as far as the icons, the best you can do is force windows to make things large or use a zoom app, otherwise you have to deal with it.
