Hi,

I just ordered a BenQ XL2430T monitor for a purpose of playing FPS games on 144hz refresh rate. I'm playing on a laptop and it has only HDMI and VGA output. What's the best way to go about it to get that 144hz refresh rate?

Would HDMI 1.4 cable be enough or is the monitor not capable of outputting 144hz refresh rate using HDMI cable?

Thanks in advance

Yup, unfortunately hdmi will only go up to 60hz (with audio). To go higher than that you will need to use either a dvi-d (144hz but no audio) or displayport (144hz with audio).

Sorry about that bud. I have a 144hz monitor and used to run a 60hz monitor before that, and to be honest I was decent at bf4 before I got it and I was still decent at it afterward. You're not missing out on too much, sure you may see a difference but if hardware makes your fps game better then someone get me a titan x sli!
