The speakers on my headset are working just fine when plugged into the monitor's jack, but the microphone jack is not registering. I know my headset is working correctly because plugging it in to the computer case's jack work. Any suggestions?

yay! just found how to get sound over monitor mic jack, you need to buy Audio Cable!
Displayport audio implementation, while in specifications, is up to the manufacturer of the various devices to implement.. Since your sound is probably from the on-board sound component, I doubt the graphics card that's connected to your monitor is carrying sound over.

Thank you for the response! Is that something that would be mentioned in the user manual for my graphics card? I have a Geforce GTX 770.
Dude, think. If the graphics card does not have a sound engine, it would have to find a way to connect up to the sound card on the motherboard - just to transport sound to the monitor?
Sure, read up on it in the user guide, check it out on the Nvidia forums.
Also see if the manual on the monitor mentions anything.
i have the same problem and monitor, i am using 144 hz + DP cable, i managed to reinstall catalyst drivers to beta 15.xx, and now i finaly get audio over headphones jack in monitor, but i still can't make microphone jacks work..
