benq xl2730z not saving monitor settings

So i have had a benq xl2730z monitor since release and since i set it up until now no matter what i do the monitor setting keep resetting when i restart my pc. i have tried to save them through the benq display pilot software and through the actual monitor and nothing works.

nvm, I talked to a benq tech and they told me uninstall the Display pilot software they included and to set DDC/CI found in Menu/System/Other Settings/DDC/CI in the monitor menu to Off, and that worked.

Uninstalling the display pilot software is fine. That's good enough.
But you don't need to turn DDC/CI to off.
All you have to do is make sure the 'internet cafe' option in the service menu is turned "off".
if this option is turned on, the monitor will reset to default settings on every power on.

Display pilot can override this. Turning DDC/CI to off is like bandaging a paper skin scratch with operating room gauze. DDC/CI off will stop display pilot from even communicating with the monitor in the first place.

I turned of the DDC/CI and the setting still seem to be saved after resetting so that's good, i don't see an internet cafe option for the monitor, i searched through the manual as well and didn't see it, is that a windows setting?
