Question Bent CPU while installing, will the motherboard still work?

Hi all,

Years ago I was installing a liquid cooler and pulled a noob mistake by installing the stand offs in upside down. Long story short, I overtightened it too hard and the lid of the CPU was bent. I chucked it back to Amazon and got a new CPU and motherboard. I kept the motherboard since I didn't feel comfortable RMAing it for my mistake. I was nervous to put another CPU in it since I applied enough pressure to bend the lid so I just got another.

My question is, will that motherboard still work? Might testing a CPU in it cause damage to the CPU? Has anyone experienced something like this?

Thanks for any advice!
