Question Bent my CPU, is it fixable?

Hi guys.
Today (do not laugh, haha) i dropped my processor while handling it. After my micro heart-attack I picked it up and the corner was quite bent (if you can spot any other damage at the pictures let me know cause i'm not an experta). I've tested it and the PC turns on, but i have no display, it's an I5 7400, and i'm running no GPU other than iGPU.
I read that I could try heating it and slowly straighten it. Do you see it possible? To my mind, the pins are not being able to contact the CPU so it's worth the try, but wanted to ask beforehand.

You can try to do as you plan since you have nothing to lose, but I'm very pessimistic about your chances. The physical force of the CPU cooler would have probably forced it to be relatively straight, and if it didn't work, I don't expect it ever to.
 
As said, you dont really stand to lose anything by trying, it already dosent work.
I would recommend checking the socket pins though, if the edges of the processor did not properly seat due to being bent, the mounting force of the cooler could have forced portions further into the socket, bending pins there too.
 
looks like the circuit board was slightly bent. This could mean that the traces to the pad might have cracks. You would have to figure out the effected pad, then look at the intel pinout diagram to find the pin number, then look at the pin number to find out what cpu function is effected.
there are a lot of functions you might find the pin is for something you do not even use.
I would just plug it in, boot up and run the intel processor diagnostics utility and see if it reports something that is not working.
Most likely when you put this back in to the cpu holder It will be pressed flat, if the edge does not crack off I would just continue on with testing.

lots of redundancy in the pins. Like all of the red pads in the diagram are VCC
(power source ).

guess I5 7400 is a 7th gen kaby lake processor.
you would google intel kaby lake pinouts

for example if you have a broken pin, you look at the diagram and find the pin name
like PEG_tx google the pin name and see what it does. for example this would be for PCI Express Graphics and that function may fail with a broken pad. one or two Vcc pins broken most likely would still work but could reduce the max power that would go to the CPU. other pins might break the memory access lines. ie certain bits would always be read as a zero even if a 1 was written to the locations.
