So I've just bent some pins on my replacement Gigabyte socket 1151 motherboard trying to clean some thermal compound off the board

This is after I somehow bent a pin on it's predecessor whilst removing a chip.

Are mobos with bent pins worth sending back to manufacturer for a repair or should I just suck it up and buy a third?

Thanks!

I was thinking of that, but I've already spent 700 dollars on the two mobos. I don't really want to risk blowing up my very expensive core i7 as well!

Hi

I had a similar problem. As rock H170 ac/itx board. My second ram slot would prevent the pc from booting.

I eventually checked the motherboard and theyre were 2 pins damaged. You can youtube it or just use a small watch screwdriver or similar tool. I moved mine carefully and although it still looks slightly bent it is now working fine.

I would suggest you go slow and move them yourself. If it doesnt work then sent of for a fix/replacement.
