Question Bequiet BK008 won’t fit properly

Hi I have purchased a Bequiet BK008 CPU cooler which I’m currently trying to install in my dell optiplex 390 MT. However, I’ve ran into issues. The holes in the motherboard are threaded, but you mount the CPU with little plastic clips and they won’t fit into them, which is a right PITA because all the things I read before I bought it said it would fit! What do I do? Am I going to have to send it back?

The mount is slightly different , not standard for the socket. Aftermarket won't fit.

Ugh. Is there any way I could modify it using the standard cooler to make it fit?

Not really , many OEM boards in pre-builts are like that.

If I do send it back and get a refund, are you sure there aren’t any other coolers that would fit -

Optiplex 390 CPU Cooler?

Is there any cpu coolers that i can put in my optiplex 390 mt? Its running a i5 2400 with stock cooler but i would like the cpu to run a bit cooler with a after market cooler but im not sure which would be best and if it would be compatible with it. Its lga 1155 socket. Thanks in advanced.
