Hi pjkreese, if you can please edit your post and correct the link to the build. That link is a generic one from the pcpartpicker site and directs people to a blank build or their current parts list. Once a list is put together there's a link created by pcpartpicker to link people to the specific build you've compiled. Here's a screenshot of it.

that's the wrong link, you have to use the permalink provided at the top of the page.
But for a 1000USD build, you'd have 850 left for a pc, with 120 for a monitor and 30 for a M+K combo.
That would mean an i5-4460 (180), 16gb ram (90), Asrock H97 Pro (80), R9 290 (270 w/ rebate), WD Black 1TB (70), RM650 (80), and leaving 80$ for any case of your choice.
You can save a bit on the case and ram and get a better monitor, maybe 144hz,
