Hello!

So after upgrading my PC it's time to upgrade monitor. Right now I'm using older ASUS VG245 (1080p. 75Hz) which was pretty good for last 6 years or so.
I would like to get something 27 inch, 1440p, not curved with good image quality and nice colors. I don't play competetive/online games so I don't need super high refresh rate, I think 144Hz should be fine.
I mostly play RPG games as Cyberpunk, Elden Ring, Starfield and racing games as Forza Horizon 5.

My budget is 300$ and so far I found this ASUS monitor:
ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ3A

Is it good option?

My PC specs are in signature, but for mobile members I'll list them here:

Motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming Z790-Plus
CPU: Intel Core i5 13600KF @5.1GHz
Cooler: ASUS ROG Strix LC II 240 AIO
RAM: 2x16GB G.Skill Ripjaws S5 Series DDR5-6000 @ 3000MHz
GPU: PowerColor Red Devil Radeon RX7800XT 16GB
PSU: Corsair RM750x (750W)
Storage: M.2 Samsung 980Pro 1TB + M.2 Samsung 990Pro 1TB
Case: NZXT H5 Flow

thank you! I will definitely look that the website and check some reviews.

My friend recently got that ASUS you linked (exact model) and I wasn’t impressed, the quality of image was the same like my 6 year old 1080p monitor… it was just bigger and higher resolution. The one I linked in first post is apparently newer version of the one you linked but there is not really any comparisons or reviews from actual users yet (i guess is still too new) so hard to tell.

I’m open for other brands than ASUS as well even tho half of my rig is ASUS brand 😅

Thank you!

I really like that LG monitor, seems like worth adding extra 50$ for it. Reviews are great, all specs are better than competition and supports HDR10. I might test this one then.
Appreciate your help!

I would recommend the MSI G274QPF-QD. It's one of my monitor of choice, although it goes slightly above your budget ($30) when non-sale. General Specs Overview
- 170 Hz
- HDR 400
- Rapid IPS
- Freesync Premium (Fits your GPU right now)
- 95% P3
- 150% SRGB
- 300 Nits
- 1.07 B Colors, 8 Bit with FRC

I hope this helps you!

After reading and watching multiple reviews and comparisons - i narrowed it to two ASUS models as they are both available to pick up in local Microcenter so I can go there and check them in person before purchasing and they both fit in budget and come with 3 years of warranty.
I opted out from LG after all due to huge size with stand, and as having small desk it might not work that well and i read people were having issues with these LG monitors (dead pixels, not great quality control etc).

Cannot decide between these two:
Comparison of specifications:

The “3A” is newer and has DisplayPort 1.4 vs 1.2 in “1A” but older model has 10bit colors and HDR10+HDR400 support vs 8bit and HDR400 on newer 🤔 Not sure how important it will be in games but something to consider i guess.
