Hi all,
I'm planning to build a new gaming setup when I move across the country and need to buy a new monitor, and I had a few questions that I'd appreciate some input on.
Basic info
I've trawled through Amazon and Newegg for an hour now, but I haven't seen anything that's jumped out at me. Does anyone have any recommendations for what I should be looking at? Thanks!
EDIT: Just realized I forgot to mention that I'm not a fan of curved monitors, so flat panels would be much preferred. Also, I just stumbled on this model from LG that seems to fit most of my requirements, but I don't have any experience with LG displays. Would this fit my needs?
I'm planning to build a new gaming setup when I move across the country and need to buy a new monitor, and I had a few questions that I'd appreciate some input on.
Basic info
- Country: Canada
- Budget: 500-1000 Canadian dollars (including tax), but obviously the cheaper the better
- Use case: Gaming, schoolwork, photo/video editing, media consumption (movies, etc.)
- Preferred resolution: 1440p
- Preferred screen size: 27-32"
- Preferred refresh rate: 144-240hz
- I'm currently using an Asus TUF VG27AQ (27", 1440p @ 165hz), but I was thinking of upgrading to 240hz because I play a lot of FPS games. Would the jump from 165hz to 240hz be noticeable?
- My current monitor is 27", but I was thinking of upgrading to 32". Would the PPI of 1440p at 32" make the image unbearably blurry?
- Should I look for GSYNC compatibility? I've had it enabled on my current monitor for a while, and to be honest, I haven't noticed much of a difference (but that could totally just be my not-very-discerning eye).
